Orthopedic Surgeon
Craig Faulks, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon at The George Washington University Hospital and an Assistant Clinical Professor at The George Washington University School of Medicine, specializing in sports medicine. He is board certified in Orthopedic Surgery and received an American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons (ABOS) Subspecialty Certificate in Sports Medicine in 2007. He is an expert in arthroscopy and joint replacement. He specializes in minimally invasive arthroscopic shoulder and knee surgery.
Dr. Faulks completed his medical degree at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH. He completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at The George Washington University Medical Center, where he was chief resident of orthopedic surgery from 1992-93. As a clinical fellow specializing in sports medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School, Dr. Faulks was a team physician for the New England Patriots Football Club, the Boston Bruins Hockey Club and various Harvard University athletic teams. Recently, he has been an Olympic team physician and a physician for the World Figure Skating Championships.
He has published articles in the American Review of Respiratory Disease, Injuries in Baseball, Complications of Limb Salvage, Prevention, Management and Outcome and The Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery. Dr. Faulks has spoken on a variety of orthopedic topics locally, nationally and internationally.
In addition, Dr. Faulks is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the American Orthopedic Society for
Sports Medicine, The Arthroscopic Association of North America, the Washington D.C. Orthopedic Society and the Medical Society of the District of Columbia. He is also the current team physician for the Sidwell Friends School in Washington, DC.
