During Aquatic Therapy, patients perform exercises in a heated pool, which places less stress on joints and muscles and increases flexibility and mobility.
A licensed physical therapist performs this special rehab service in a group setting of four-to-five patients per class.
While any patient can benefit from aquatic therapy, the following conditions respond most favorably to aquatics:
- Back surgeries or problems
- Orthopedics or sports related injuries
- Spinal cord injuries
- Arthritis
- Fibromyalgia
- Total joint replacements
- Balance dysfunctions
- Multiple sclerosis
