Services
At GW Heart, we use advanced technology to provide patients with complete heart care. We offer comprehensive treatment of cardiovascular disease and vascular disorders, available in one location. Our goal is to help each patient live a long life with a healthy heart.
Advanced Heart Failure Program
We offer an array of therapy options including temporary and long-term mechanical support, home infusion and evaluation for heart transplant.
Cardiac CT and Cardiac MRI
GW Hospital is one of only a handful of area hospitals that offers cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and cardiac CT.
Cardiac Catheterization
Interventional tools, such as balloons and stents, are fed through a catheter into the coronary arteries to reduce blockages and improve blood flow.
Cardiac Surgery
Skilled cardiac surgeons perform a wide range of procedures. These include innovative coronary artery bypass surgery, other procedures that open blocked arteries, and valve repairs and replacements.
Deep Vein Thrombosis Treatment
We offer many treatment options for deep vein thrombosis (DVT), which is the formation of a blood clot in a vein deep inside the body that may interfere with blood flow.
Heart Rhythm Disorders and Treatments
Using all the resources available in our diagnosis center, doctors can determine the nature and severity of an abnormal heart rhythm and provide treatment.
Noninvasive Diagnostics
The noninvasive cardiac laboratory can help physicians diagnose a variety of cardiac disorders. Studies provide information about the heart and arteries, as well as possible heart abnormalities present at birth.
Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD) Treatment
We use advanced tools and techniques to detect and treat PAD, which narrows and clogs arteries. People with PAD are at increased risk for heart disease, aortic aneurysm and stroke.
Pulmonary Hypertension Program
The team at the GW Advanced Pulmonary Hypertension Program provides progressive treatments for this uncommon, but potentially fatal condition.
Transradial Cardiac Catheterization
This advanced procedure enables an interventional cardiologist to access a patient's heart through the inside of their wrist rather than through the large femoral artery in their thigh.
Advanced Technology
GW Heart is proud to offer advanced technology, including transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), ventricular assist devices (LVADs) for heart failure and Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) for cardiopulmonary bypass.
